Maria MacKnight, MSc, MAc, LAc is one of the most experienced and highly trained practitioners of acupuncture and energetic medicine in the United States. She's been in practice for over 30 years, and has been trained in over two dozen modalities. She was schooled and performed on-the-job training in hospitals in New York City, China, Vietnam, Spain, France, and Brazil. Prior to this, she trained surgeons in Florida hospitals how to use the then-new technology of surgical staplers.
What Is Restorative Medicine?
Restorative Medicine™ is founded upon the understanding of the relationship between the body and mind, and treats the whole person, rather than just the anatomical parts and their symptoms. According to the Oxford American dictionary, restore means to bring back to an original state. Restorative means that which restores health or strength. Health is the state of being well or free from illness. Illness can have many meanings and a variety of ways to counter it. From my clinical experience of over twenty years, I know that true health is much more than a lack of illness or remarkable symptoms – more than a passed physical. What we don’t know can harm us, as in the common case of a person suffering, whose tests or surgery fail to show the cause.
